Foundation to Match Funds Raised by Hurricane Relief Concert

(Newbury Park, CA) Ed Hogan, chairman of the Hogan Family Foundation announced today that his non profit foundation will match funds raised by the Jazz “O’Cajun” concert up to a total of $50K. The concert will be held at the Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday, September 7th at 6:30 p.m. to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

The Foundation has hired the Bayou Brass, a Cajun music band who normally performs at Disneyland in Anaheim for the performance. The Foundation is requesting a $20 per person minimum donation payable at the door in cash or checks only. The Civic Arts Plaza is providing free parking for the event which is expected to draw record crowds to the Gardens of the World.

“Our community has shown a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and support for this event,” said Ed Hogan. “We believe that we have the ability to raise a lot of money to help bring some relief to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. In keeping with that goal, not only is our Foundation bearing all costs related to the concert, but we have decided to match dollar for dollar the funds contributed by the citizens of our community for this effort,” he continued. “I challenge every business owner in the area to step up to this great need and match our donation with their own. This is the worst natural disaster in the history of our country and we need to pull out all the stops to do what we can to help.”

100% of all funds raised by the concert will go to supply much needed supplies for the victims of the storm that has devastated the southern states. “ We are happy to be able to present this concert to the public for them to hear some great New Orleans jazz and be able to make a contribution to help those poor people”, said Ed Hogan.

The Gardens of the World is a 4.5 acre facility with 5 international gardens surrounding a large Victorian Bandstand where the concert will be held. Guests are encouraged to bring picnics baskets and lawn seating for the performance.

Additional information is available at 805-557-1135. Anyone unable to attend the concert but wishing to make a tax deductible donation may do so by sending a check made out to the Hogan Family Foundation to 2834 Borchard Road, Newbury Park, CA 91320. The Foundation is a charitable non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
