Cajun Jazz Concert to be Held for Hurricane Relief
(Newbury Park, CA) Ed Hogan, chairman of the Hogan Family
Foundation announced today that his non profit foundation
will hold a Jazz “ O’Cajun” at the
Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday,
September 7th at 6:30 p.m. to raise funds for the victims
of Hurricane Katrina.Hogan, founder of Pleasant Holidays
started his non profit operating Foundation in 1998
with the objective of giving back in appreciation for
their successful travel business.
The Foundation has hired the Bayou Brass, a Cajun music
band who normally perform at Disneyland in Anaheim for
the performance. A minimum $20 per person donation is
requested at the door. The Foundation has agreed to
match all funds raised up to $50K. The funds raised
will specifically be designated for the Armed Forces
Relief Trust to provide relief for members of our armed
forces who suffered losses during the hurricane.
“My
wife and I are devastated by what has happened as a
result of this horrific storm,” said Ed Hogan.
“We were in New Orleans recently and it is hard
to believe what we are reading and seeing on television.
As with many American’s, our first thoughts were,
‘what can we do to help?’ We are happy to
be able to present this concert to the public for them
to hear some great New Orleans jazz and be able to make
a contribution to help those poor people.100% of all
funds raised will be given to the military victims of
this terrible tragedy,” continued Hogan. “These
people are fighting for our freedom and now have lost
everything. We need to do whatever we can to help them.”
The
Gardens of the World is located at 2001 Thousand Oaks
Blvd in Thousand Oaks. It is a 4.5 acre facility with
5 international gardens surrounding a large Victorian
Bandstand where the concert will be held. Guests are
encouraged to bring picnics baskets and lawn seating
for the performance. Free parking is available at the
Civic Arts Plaza across the street from the Gardens.
